Knowledge Audits

LWM Technology Services uses an investigatory process of interviewing and reviewing to assess an organization's mission, how employees pursue their work and what information is needed to achieve the mission. Knowledge audits are more limited in scope than full Information Audits; the investigation explores current and preferred practices for all knowledge-based services and content. The Audit seeks to identify relationships among all expert sources of organizational knowledge, current knowledge needs for additional external resources, and potential new sources of knowledge to integrate into the organization. It concludes with recommendations for improved knowledge management process practices, elimination of unnecessary services and practices, and new resource suggestions. A knowledge audit may be followed by a more complete Information Audit to include analysis of technological software applications and their implementation.

An unbiased third-party brings objectivity to the audit process. Contact LWM Technology Services for an informal discussion of how this would work for your organization.
